"RUDE AWAKENINGS"

by Keith M. Donaldson

WAS TWO YEARS AHEAD OF YOU.

"Rude Awakenings", was  self-published (October 2009).

The story, however, begins on January 22, 2013.

BQB Publishing will rerelease "Rude Awakenings" in March 2012. It has been called prescient and clairvoyant. Now two years after the books initial release many elements of the story have come true, and many more may yet become true - like a third major political party, the Centrist Party of America, whose candidtates are successful in wining the White House and enough seats in both the U.S. Senate and House, with no one party having the majority.

"rude awakenings" is rife with International Intrigue, crippling Debt, Global Currency, Third World Status, Foreign Oil, Political Upheaval, a Nuclear Attack, Black Ops and an endearing Romance.

"Rude Awakenings"

begins on the new President's first day in office.

The perfect  storm in American politics

has been brewing in the real world,

since the 2010 elections.

The philosophical gulf between

liberals and conservatives

was strongly widened by those

2010 elections

 leaving millions of Americans

 in the middle

with nobody representing them.

"Rude Awakenings" was written between

late 2007 and July 2009 with a look into the future.

It is about a group of Americans so fed up with

Congress and the White House that they created the

National Centrist Political Party in early 2011.

What followed amazed even them.

While Conservatives and Liberals continued to throw bricks at each other in 2011 and 2012, Centrists were proclaiming their presidential candidate’s political philosophy across the country. No cheesy debates, but hundreds of town meetings, with no media getting between them and the American people. The conservative and liberal media pooh-poohed the Centrist's viability, but 60 percent of American voters didn't, they got smart and went to the polls in droves, setting election day records.

"Rude Awakenings", begins at 5:22:21 am on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 when a Secret Service agent awakens the new president to report that an American city had been nuked. With no Cabinet in place, a Congress fractured into three parties and his VP being flown out of Washington, he is rushed to the White House Situation Room.

Self published, "Rude Awakenings" is available online and in E-books. It will soon be rereleased by BQB Publishing in early March 2012.

International terror, suspense, global financial manipulation, espionage and romance

"Keith M. Donaldson has tightened his grip

on the imaginations of the American public.

This novel, a finalist winner in mystery at the

2010 Indie Book Awards, is a disturbingly

plausible projection of events surrounding

our next REAL election."

"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes; a principle which if acted on, would save one-half the wars of the world. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." - Thomas Jefferson

In a bid to stem taxpayer losses for bad loans guaranteed by federal housing agencies Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) proposed that borrowers be required to make a 5% down payment in order to qualify. His proposal was rej1ected 57-42 by the democrats because, as Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn) explained, - "PASSAGE OF SUCH A REQUIREMENT WOULD RESTRICT HOME OWNERSHIP TO ONLY THOSE WHO CAN AFFORD IT." Maybe this kind of thinking is why he is no longer in Congress.

These are BUT a couple of the MANY reasons why "Rude Awakenings" was written; congress digging deeper financial holes from which we may never extricate ourselves.

"Author Keith M. Donaldson's cleverly interwoven themes

of international terror, suspense, global financial manipulation,

espionage and romance, make for an engaging mystery."

  Rude Awakenings scenario:

Do you want to see what the fictional 2012 election looks like after the real life 2010 election created a political perfect storm that “Rude Awakenings” describes when it was written over a year earlier (between late 2007 and fall of 2009 and released in April 2010). It clairvoyantly shows the ideological gap "Rude Awakenings" described with when Democratic Party became more liberal and Republican Party more conservative.

The book also describes an unimaginable debt that more than doubles the USA's debt figure in '08. "Rude" also describe a financial crash that would devastate Americans, not in the exact manner of the real 2008 crash, but still having the similar destructive effect on the American economy. This award winning book was a Finalist in Mystery at the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards competition.

  ...[complete synopsis here]...

In the futuristic fictional view projected by "Rude Awakenings", the National Centrist Party was formed in January 2011 out a growing frustration with America’s two major parties. An Independent female governor, Bryanna Dudley, and a male philanthropist, Mike Macdonald, whose wealth was earned from his financial acumen formed the National Centrist Party. Macdonald, a former Marine officer, became a Rhodes Scholar and received his Doctorate in Finance from the Wharton School of Business, became intrigued with the opportunity to correct decades of political wrongdoings by uprooting the status quo in Washington, DC.

In the fictionalized world of "Rude Awakenings" a perfect storm of warring ideologies in the 2010 national elections leads up to the 2012 elections with three separate sets of presidential candidates, and a Centrist candidate vying with Republicans and Democrats for and winning enough seats in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives to create a three party, no majority Congress, in both houses. Centrists Mike Macdonald and Bryanna Dudley were elected President and Vice President respectively by a large plurality and a majority of the electoral votes.

"Rude Awakenings is a disturbingly vivid portrayal of greed, deceit, political corruption, intimidation, and murder; all at the expense of the American people, and it has been going on for generations."

"Rude Awakenings… International intrigue, domestic turmoil, and a masterfully spun whodunit were a rude enough awakening to keep me turning the pages."

"Rude Awakenings describes political corruption and intimidation, and a brutal attack on America made possible by willful politicians who created a weak America ripe for financial and militaristic weaknesses. The Roman Empire was crushed because it didn't take care of things at home. They became social and political hemophiliacs with no inner strength. "Rude Awakenings" is about giving American's that last possible chance at redemption; the last chance of refilling America's emptiness. We can ask God to bless America, but it is an empty request if Americans do work hard to earn that blessing”.

Reviews

Rude Awakenings is a fantastic story that serves as a window into the White House at a time when our Nation is besieged by attack and impending threats both foreign and domestic.

As a self-described ‘Progressive Conservative’, the emergence of a Centrist party was a particularly intriguing premise; one that will also ring true for the growing numbers of Americans that are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the perception that the two parties are serving their own interests, rather than those of the American people.

This book serves as a strong reminder that complacency, dependency, and waste can bring down the strongest economy; and if left to our continued compulsions of fiscal frivolity, then we too will in fact all be in for a very rude awakening.

But beyond the politics that set the stage for a centrist President dedicated to reigning in the National Debt; the character, goals, and decisive leadership of this book’s hero – President Mike Macdonald are exemplary of how our nation should expect our president not just to act, but to perform. Through his understanding of economics, the international markets, and the strength of people relying on each other instead of a government, President Macdonald is able to set the course needed to right a nation on the brink of disaster.

This is truly a great read and scarily relevant to the growing concerns we may soon be forced to face.
